You are cordially invited to participate in the 2010 International ICST Conference on Bio-Inspired Models of Network, Information and Computing Systems (BIONETICS 2010) to be held at Le Meridien Cambridge Hotel, MA, USA during December 1 to 3 (Wenesday - Friday), 2010.BIONETICS 2010 aims to provide a world-leading and unique opportunity for bringing together researchers and practitioners from diverse disciplines that seek the understanding of the fundamental principles and design strategies in biological systems and leverage those understandings to build bio-inspired systems.
BIONETICS 2010 will be the fifth occurrence of the BIONEITCS conference series. This is the first time BIONETICS takes place in North America. Adjacent to Boston, Cambridge has a proud history as an intellectual center and some of the most historic sites in the US.
Sponsored by ICST, ACM SIGSIM and CREATE-NET, BIONETICS 2010 will feature the state-of-the-art keynote speeches, parallel technical sessions, focused special tracks, interactive demo/poster sessions, informative co-located workshops and entertaining social functions. Here are several important notes and annoucements:
- Five keynote speeches by world authorities have been arranged: Radhika Nagpal, Cheng Li, Karl Lieberherr, Thilo Gross and Rezarta Islamaj Doğan
- The technical program consists of the main track and seven special tracks:
- Each track has regular, work-in-progress (WIP) and short paper presentations. 60+ paper presentations are planned in total. The acceptance rate of regular papers is 39%. (It is 24% in the main track.)
- Rui Teng, Bing Zhang, Jianqin Liu (National Institute of Information and Communications Technology, Japan) won the best paper award.
- Brian Olson (George Mason University) and Chonho Lee (University of Massachusetts, Boston) won the best student paper awards.
- K. Habibul Kabir, Masahiro Sasabe and Tetsuya Takine (Osaka University) and Parisa Memarmoshrefi, Roman Seibel and Dieter Hogrefe (University of Göttingen) won the best workshop paper award.
- A selected number of papers will be considered for publication in the following leading journals and a book:

- Elsevier Nano Communication Networks Journal
- Int'l Journal of Software Engineering and Knowledge Engineering

- The demo/poser session will showcase 20+ demos/posters.
- Three co-located worskhops will take place: BioLearn (Dec. 2, AM), BioAmbIS (Dec. 2, PM), and BioAdcom (Dec. 3, AM).
- All conference and workshop papers will be published by Springer.
- Several social events have also been arranged, including the conference banquet and welcome reception.
- A list of hotels and other accommodation is available.
